How to Share Your News With NE Tacoma Buzz

NE Tacoma Buzz is built from what neighbors know. Some of our best story ideas will come from you: the volunteer who keeps a trail clear, the club planning its next gathering, the family that has been on the same street for three generations. Here is how to send something in.
What we’re looking for
- News: park projects, road work, closures, and civic updates that affect Browns Point, Dash Point or Northeast Tacoma.
- Events: public events in or near 98422. Please include a link to the organizer’s page so readers can check details.
- Neighbor Spotlight: a volunteer, coach, teacher or friend who deserves a thank-you.
- Local Business: the person behind the counter and how they got here.
- A Point in Time: old photos, family history and memories of the neighborhood.
- Corrections: if we got something wrong, we want to know.
How to send it
Use the Submit a Tip page. Tell us what’s happening, where, when, and how we can learn more. A link to an official source, like an organizer’s website or a city page, helps us publish faster.
About photos
We love neighbor photos, and we always credit them. Please send only photos you took yourself, or that you have the owner’s permission to share. Send the original, full-size file if you can, because phone screenshots and social media copies lose a lot of detail.
To keep things comfortable for everyone, we don’t publish photos where children or other people can be recognized, and we don’t publish close-ups of private homes. Landscapes, wildlife, landmarks, storefronts and food are perfect.
What happens next
We read every tip, but we don’t publish every one. Before something goes up, we check the facts with the source. We won’t publish your contact information. If your story is a better fit for our print magazine, Life on the Sound, we may ask whether we can save it for a future edition.
A note on businesses
Writing about a local business is free and is never an advertisement. If a business wants to advertise, that’s handled separately and is always labeled. Being featured in a story does not depend on buying an ad.
Thank you for helping us tell the story of our corner of the Sound.
